Admission to NNU
Northwest Nazarene University admits students who desire to contribute to the mission of the University and display academic characteristics that predict success at the university level.
- NNU maintains a policy of equal educational opportunity for all students without regard to sex, race, color, religion, national or ethnic origin, age, or physical and documented learning disabilities; and in the administration of its educational and admissions policies, finance and operations, employment programs, student life, and services, or any other university-administered programs.
- Students may enroll in only one program at a time.
Admission of Applicants With Criminal Charges or Convictions
Applicants for admission to any of Northwest Nazarene University’s graduate programs who have been charged with, convicted of, or have pending legal charges/convictions may be denied admission or have an admissions decision rescinded by the Admissions Director, the Vice President for Enrollment, or the Enrollment Commission.
As part of the admissions review, the University may require additional documentation, including court records, personal statements, character references, or other relevant information. The University reserves the right to consider the nature and severity of the offense, the date of the offense, the applicant’s age at the time of the offense, evidence of rehabilitation, compliance with court requirements, and any other factors deemed relevant to campus safety and institutional mission.
Applicants who are currently incarcerated or who have recently been released from a correctional facility may be required to allow a minimum of one (1) year to elapse between the date of release and the date of enrollment at Northwest Nazarene University. The University reserves the right to extend this waiting period based on individual circumstances.
Failure to disclose accurate, complete, and current information regarding criminal history, or failure to promptly report any criminal charges, arrests, convictions, or other relevant incidents that occur before or after admission, may result in denial of admission, rescission of admission, suspension, or dismissal from the University.
