SARA Disclosure--Master of Science in School Counseling

NNU's Master of Science in Counseling: School Counseling Major is nationally accredited by Council for the Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs (CACREP).  Students enrolled in the School Counseling program complete 60 credit hours of coursework over eight semesters (33 months), 1,000 hours of practicum/internship experience, pass the national comp exam, and sit for the National Counselor Examination (NCE).

Upon graduation, School Counseling majors are prepared to make application for the Licensed Professional Counselor credential in the State of Idaho for the K-12 school counseling credential. Graduates are also qualified for the Idaho Department of Education Pupil Personnel Services Certification. Both of these certifications are broadly portable to most other U.S. states and territories because of recipricol agreements made between states via the National Association of State Directors of Teacher Education and Certification (NASDTEC).
